RE: [Chrysler300] 413 oll pump

DO Not Use 10-40 check with dealers or look in a newer car owners manual
10-40 voids your warranty. What brand of oil are you using, I hope not
Pennzoil? The technical answer about 10-40 is to long, the short answer is
the oil cannot hold all the amount of additive it takes to make it 10-40 and
under heat it breaks down and turns into an abrasive, thus wearing out you
valve guides, bearings and so on. My race car was sponsored by Pennzoil
and I had nothing but oiling problems, switched back to Kendal, all the
problems went away just like it's name on the side of my car. I would use
20-50 and stick with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!

Because a year ago I changed the oil to 20-50W and the problem went away.
Last week I changed the oil back to 10-40W and the problem came back, so I
figure it is the pump, but I am open to suggestions as to other causes.

What made you settle on the oil pump as the reason for low oil pressure?
