Thanks Gary, this is the first time I've had the drums off the back of the car since I bought it off some poor old guy for $300 bucks. I'm thinking about getting a flange axle off a 65 and upgrading it and my polara.

If you are talking about the part of the axle where the brake drum  
attaches, before you put the drum back on put a very very thin  
application of Anti-Seize Lubricant on the area of the axle where the  
drum rests.
