Fuel pump advice?

I have a '65 Belvedere that's been a drag car. I'd like to get it on
the street to shows and cruises with occasional trips to the strip. I
have a 383 with a Holley 4781 double-pumper.

I have a Barry Grant 280 fuel pump, which is for short duration strip
use only. Does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement
electric pump and filter that is suitable for street use?

Also, the fuel pump is currently wired to the windshield wiper switch,
by the previous owner. Is there a typical reason for this? Why does
the pump need to be on a switch? I'm hooking the wipers back up and
I'll need to add a dedicated switch, but I guess the switch
requirements will be dictated by the pump I choose?

Thanks for any info.
