Bill, You don't need a dial indicator, how ever they are cheap. You can do it with a screw driver. The key is as soon as the screw driver stops coming up, put a mark on the dampner, then slowly turn until it starts to go down, put a mark, and split the difference. Close enough for street tuning. Two people helps. One to turn the crank, one to watch the screw driver. Run thru it a couple of times and you will get it.
