Should be a simple change out, sounds like you are onto the changes  already, 
the only thing else would be the need for a later model converter,  which are 
plentiful even in the aftermarket ones, the only other item, I am not  sure 
of, and that is the speedo cable connection, but if not direct fit, a  later 
model one should work
