I spent most of the time on WLS, John Records Landecker was the DJ of fame. KOMA and KAAY had buttons set too. Particularly enjoyed "Beaker Street" show late nights out of KAAY. (Yeah, I played in some Rock bands through the years). All those stations kicked up the wattage at published sundown times, and pulled back at published sunup times, while the small local stations did the opposite. Yankton SD was one of the exceptions to that rule. ( I used to work in RF electronics too). The guys in my area should remember WOW and KMNS too. Ofcourse, I was just a kid (little one) when those AM stations were popular ! Those AM radio buttons were in the dash of my '63 Fury 2dr Hardtop.
