Keep in mind the "hemi" is not really a hemi, its a "bastardized" hemi. They wanted to reduce production cost, so they kept the angle of the valves not as wide, etc etc. The only reason they introduced the "hemi" is because it sounds good. Face it, there is really no reason to introduce a hemi any more. For the not as dramatic specific powers they are trying to hit, and with modern injection and combustion engineering technologies, a wedge would do just fine (look at the GM modern V8's). The only reason they built it so that it resembles a hemi is for marketing reasons. I am alergic to these marketing tricks. Now, if that "hemi" was tuned to make 50% more specific power, then may be it would be worthwhile being a hemi (a real hemi, with 60 degrees in the valve angles). But even then, a 4 valve per cylinder engine would be far superior to any hemi, so it would all be pointless anyway. So, let's face it. If you want a real hemi, or a real Imperial, you have to look in the 50's and 60's, and some to the 70's.
