Hi Nick.... with those symptoms I'd be checking cylinder compression before I messed with that carb, with my mind on the valve seats. If you had low compression then it would only be able to run well when the choke enriched the mixture, then after it warms up low compression would prevent continued combustion in one or more cylinders. The black carbon could be combustion gases blowing by the inlet valves and back into the carb, further interfering with smooth running. Bob O. Before I take it apart I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the following problem: It will idle fine for about 15 minutes and then just sputter out and stall. I can usually start it right up again but it will run very rough. The choke plate and primaries are all full of black carbon. The next day the same pattern all over again. I am assuming there is dirt somewhere getting everything plugged up. Any advice? thanks, Nick Nichols ------------------------------ -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Calendars are still available.
