If in the door, it matters not where the window is, when pulled. With the motor out (regulator in) the window can be moved to whatever position wanted, and the motor re-installed. The motors have no stop position in them, so can be re-installed anywhere. Some have a thermal overload circuit, as I remember. If you must move the window, remember to block it in position as it may creep down.
